Bocconi University

An orientation page for anyone weighing up Bocconi University in Milan. It sets out what a prospective student needs to establish and which office holds each answer, rather than describing the institution itself.

Next verification step

Tuition was not published for this institution. Open the institution’s own fee pages and check whether a single amount is stated or a contribution assessed on household circumstances, and whether regional charges and duties are listed separately from tuition. Publish nothing unless the page itself states the amount, the currency, the academic year, the study level, the student category and the period it covers.

Student life context

Student life is shaped far more by structure than by atmosphere: how teaching is spread across the week, whether assessment arrives steadily or lands in concentrated periods, how far apart the places you are expected to be turn out to be, and how much unclaimed time is left once study and travel are accounted for. None of that is standard across institutions, or even across programmes within one institution, so it is worth asking the office that runs your programme instead of assuming. For the general shape of it, see our orientation on what day-to-day student life tends to involve.

The rest of a week is made of things that are easy to miss on an early look. Student associations, sport, volunteering, student representation, faith provision and part-time work each run on their own calendars, and joining usually depends on being present at a particular moment rather than on wanting to join. Ask student services how societies are joined and when they recruit, whether anything is arranged specifically for students who have just arrived, and who to speak to if nothing seems to fit.

Ask plainly, too, about what happens when something goes wrong, since that is the part most people research last. Academic advising, counselling, accessibility provision, hardship support and a route to help outside teaching hours exist in some form at most institutions, but the form varies and they rarely sit in the same office. The university can say what it offers and how each service is reached, and that answer is worth having written down before you need it.

Housing considerations

Accommodation is the part of a move that punishes late starts, so treat it as a parallel task to applying rather than something that follows it. The questions to settle early are whether the university offers or allocates housing at all, whether it operates any application of its own with its own timing, what the private rental market around it usually asks of a tenant, and what happens in the gap between arriving and the start of teaching. The accommodation or student services office is the right place to begin, and our general housing orientation covers what to look for once you know which route applies.

What a listing shows is rarely the whole cost or the whole commitment. Establish what is included and what is billed separately, how long the agreement runs and whether it can be ended early, what deposit is held and on what terms it comes back, whether anything must be paid before you can view or sign, and who is legally named on the agreement if you share. Ask the university whether it recognises particular providers, and whether someone there will look over an agreement with you before you sign it.

It is also worth establishing how you would reach teaching locations from a given address at the times you would actually travel, whether the arrangement covers the periods when teaching pauses, and what the university advises for the nights immediately after arrival if a longer-term arrangement is not yet in place. If you are arranging something from another country, ask how viewing, signing and paying are handled at a distance, and what the university treats as a warning sign in a listing.

International student considerations

Arriving from another country adds a set of categories to establish rather than a single answer to look up. In broad terms they are: which entry and residence formalities apply to someone in your situation, which registration steps are expected locally after arrival, what health cover you are expected to hold, whether and how you may work while studying, how the qualifications and documents you already hold are assessed, and which language your programme and its administration actually run in. Every one of those is decided by the university or by an official authority, not here.

Take them to the international student office before anywhere else. Part of that office's job is knowing which authority owns which question, and it can usually tell you what its own institution will do for you and what you must do yourself. Where a question belongs to a public authority, ask which authority that is and read its own published guidance rather than a summary of it. Timelines matter more than most people expect, because several of these steps depend on an earlier one being finished.

It also helps to separate what the university controls from what it merely explains. Enrolment, document checks and its own deadlines are the university's; entry, residence and public administration are not. Keeping that line clear saves a great deal of wasted correspondence. If you are at the stage of planning the move itself, our general preparation guide sets out the sequence most students find themselves working through.

Admissions

This page carries no entry requirements, no deadlines and no description of how selection works, and that is deliberate. Those things differ by programme, by intake and by the route an applicant is following, and a copy of them held anywhere other than the university's own admissions pages goes out of date quietly, without ever announcing that it has.

The reliable method is dull and works. Identify the exact programme you want, open its own page on the university's site, find the admissions information attached to that programme, and note which office publishes it. Where anything is ambiguous, write to that office and ask, keeping a record of what you were told and when. Treat the institution's own pages as the version that counts whenever another source disagrees with them.

U4S verifies that the official website shown on this page belongs to the institution, and stops there. Nothing here is written on behalf of the university, and U4S is neither affiliated with it nor endorsed by it. How that verification is done, and what it does not cover, is set out in our sources and methodology.

Tuition and fees

No fee figure appears on this page. Amounts depend on the programme, on the category the institution places a given applicant in, and on the intake being applied for, and they are revised on the institution's own schedule. A figure published here could be wrong on the day you read it, and a wrong figure is of no use to anyone planning around it.

There is a further reason to go to the source. The amount charged may be assessed against a household's circumstances rather than set as a fixed price, in which case a single published number may not exist at all and what you owe would be worked out after an assessment. Whether that applies here is a question for the university, not an assumption to carry into a budget. Ask which of its pages is authoritative on fees, what an assessment would involve if one applies, and what is billed separately from tuition.

Then read the university's own fee pages for the relevant year of entry, and confirm what you find with the office that publishes them before you commit to anything. Our guide to checking official fee information explains what to look for and which questions tend to get missed.

Admissions

The institution’s own general admissions page. A particular programme may set requirements of its own, which this does not cover.

Application portal
Not located. Apply through the admissions page above.
Language requirements
Not located. U4S records no language-test threshold for any programme, anywhere.
Required documents
Not located.
Intake and deadlines
Not reviewed. U4S publishes no deadline without the intake it belongs to, and has not read this page’s dates.

Entry requirements change between intakes and differ by programme, by the qualification you hold and by where you are applying from. U4S records where the official requirements are published and when that page was last retrieved — nothing more. Students should verify current requirements on the official admissions page before relying on anything.

Next verification step

Open the official admissions page and record, only where it states them explicitly: the intake it applies to, the deadlines with their years, and the applicant categories it covers. U4S records no grade, test score or acceptance rate at any point.

What the institution asks for

Read from the institution’s own admissions pages, in the institution’s own words and units. U4S does not decide whether anyone meets any of it.

U4S never converts between grading systems or between language tests. A GPA is not a percentage, a UK classification is not a German Note, and an IELTS band is not a TOEFL score — institutions decide what they accept, and only the institution’s own published threshold governs an application. Everything below is recorded in the units the institution itself used.

Academic threshold

A grade the institution states, on its own scale. U4S does not convert between grading systems.

  • Institution-wideStated, but more than one value applies
1st round: open to all Bocconi applicants who have at least 90 credits recorded on their transcript by 31 July 2026 (without regard to GPA), or BSc graduates.

U4S records no single value here: the page names a grade point average without stating the scale it is on, and a GPA without its scale means nothing.

Interview

A stage the institution says forms part of selection.

  • Institution-wideNamed without a value
In addition, for all of the above-mentioned programs - except for Artificial Intelligence - applicants must also record a video interview , which is an integral part of the selection process.

Document

A document the institution asks applicants to provide.

  • Institution-wideNamed without a value
Educational activities (exams) with grades expressed in thirtieths and corresponding credits, as outlined in the program structure, provided they have been passed and recorded in the academic transcript by the deadline.

Requirements marked as institution-wide were read from a page that covers more than this programme. They are what the institution publishes for applicants generally, and the programme’s own requirements may differ.

Everything above is a partial reading of one page. The official admissions page is the only complete statement of what this institution asks for: https://www.unibocconi.it/en/current-students/application-and-admissions

Housing

Source located

This is about housing the institution itself runs. It says nothing about private rentals near the campus, which are a different market with different contracts, different prices and different consequences if something goes wrong.

Does the institution manage housing itself?
Yes — the institution states it manages housing
Is housing guaranteed?
Not reviewed. U4S states no guarantee unless the institution has stated one in writing, because a student would plan a move around it.
Residence types
Not reviewed.
Application period
Not reviewed. U4S publishes no housing deadline without the year it belongs to.
Cost
Not reviewed. U4S publishes no rent figure without a currency, a period, a cycle and what it covers.
Deposit
Not reviewed. A deposit is not rent, and U4S records one only where the institution states it separately.
Private renting
U4S has not recorded whether this page covers private renting. Private accommodation is not university-managed housing, and U4S lists no private landlords or agencies.

Where a line reads “not reviewed”, U4S has not retrieved an official page stating it. That is a gap in U4S — it is never a statement that an institution has no housing, offers no guarantee, or has nothing available.

Next verification step

Confirm on the official accommodation page that what is recorded here still reads the same way, and record the application period with its year when the institution publishes it.

Programmes

U4S has not read a programme catalogue for this institution. That is a gap in U4S, not a statement about what the institution offers — check its own website for the programmes it runs.
