Next verification step
Tuition was not published for this institution. Open the institution’s own fee pages and check whether the page states which student categories are charged at all, and whether an application charge is listed separately from tuition. Publish nothing unless the page itself states the amount, the currency, the academic year, the study level, the student category and the period it covers.
Student life context
Most of what students mean by student life comes down to structure and rhythm: how much of the week is timetabled, how work is assessed and how often, whether the people on your programme move through it together or independently, and how much of the rest is organised by students themselves. None of that is uniform across an institution, so it is worth asking about your own programme rather than about Chalmers as a whole, and asking about the intake you would join rather than a previous one.
Another layer is what exists outside teaching and how you join it. Establish who organises student activity here, whether taking part is tied to enrolment or arranged separately, what it asks of you in time as much as anything else, and how newcomers usually find their way in during the opening weeks of a term. The student services office and the students' own organisations are the right places to put that question. Our notes on building a circle in a new place cover the general problem rather than the local answer.
Support is the other thing worth establishing in advance: where it sits, what it covers, and whether you have to be in difficulty before you are allowed to use it. Most institutions publish this plainly, and most students find it after the moment they needed it rather than before. Reading those pages while everything is calm is a small piece of preparation that pays off later, and looking after yourself while studying explains why the timing of that matters more than the reading.
Housing considerations
Housing is the piece of a move most likely to go wrong quietly. The questions to put to Chalmers, in writing, are whether any accommodation is allocated or offered to students in your situation, whether that runs as a separate application from the one to study, when it opens and closes relative to an admission decision, and what the alternative looks like if you are not allocated anything. Ask the housing or accommodation office directly, and ask again for the intake you are joining, because arrangements get revised and a previous answer is not a promise.
Anything you find privately deserves the same caution you would apply at home: understand who you are contracting with, what the agreement covers, how deposits and notice work, and do not send money to secure something you have not been able to verify. A practical walkthrough of the housing search sets out the sequence in general terms. Where local rules or a particular tenancy are involved, the institution's housing office and the provider itself are the ones to ask, since only they can speak to your actual contract.
International student considerations
Coming from another country adds a parallel set of tasks to the academic ones, and they are more usefully treated as categories rather than as a single checklist: permission to enter and to remain; recognition of the qualifications you already hold; evidence relating to language; healthcare cover; money, banking and payments; and registration formalities once you have arrived. Each one moves at its own pace, and each one has somebody whose job it is to answer it.
For each of those, this page can only tell you that the category exists. What applies to you personally depends on where you are coming from, what you hold, what you are applying to and when, and it is decided by bodies that publish their own rules and revise them on their own schedule. Take entry and residence to the relevant official authority. Take recognition, language evidence and enrolment to Chalmers' international student office. Do not treat a summary written by anyone else, including this page, as a substitute for either of them.
Language deserves a separate note, because it is easy to assume a single answer covers everything. The language of your teaching, of your assessment, of official correspondence and of everyday administration can each differ, and each is a question of fact you can settle in advance rather than a matter of opinion. Working across languages day to day covers the general skill; your programme pages and the international student office cover which languages actually apply to you.
Admissions
This page carries no entry conditions, no dates and no admission statistics. That is not an oversight. Requirements are set per programme and per intake, they depend on the qualification you hold and the country it comes from, and they are revised. Anything restated elsewhere risks being confidently out of date, which is the failure mode that actually costs applicants places rather than the one everybody worries about.
The method that works is unglamorous. Start from Chalmers' own admissions pages for the exact programme and level you want, read them in full including the parts that seem not to apply to you, and where a shared application service is involved, establish which body owns which step so you know who to chase. If anything remains ambiguous, ask the admissions office in a message that names your programme, your level, your qualification and the country you obtained it in. Our editorial policy explains why we route these questions rather than answering them ourselves.
Tuition and fees
You will not find a fee figure here. We publish orientation rather than prices: amounts differ by programme and by level, they are set and revised by the institution, and a figure lifted onto a page elsewhere tends to be wrong long before anybody notices. Planning around a wrong number is worse than planning around none at all, which is why this page declines to offer one.
It may also be that whether tuition is charged to you at all depends on the category the institution places you in, and that a separate application charge exists which is not tuition and should not be read as part of it. Both are possibilities to check rather than conclusions to draw, and neither can be inferred from what a friend or a forum post experienced. How fee categories can differ explains the general idea without deciding anything about your own case.
The place to end is Chalmers' own fee and payment pages, for the year you would start and the programme you would join, alongside its international student office if your situation is not obvious from what is published. Check what any figure covers, what sits outside it, when it falls due, and what happens if you withdraw or defer. Ask those questions before you commit to anything rather than after.
Admissions
The institution’s own general admissions page. A particular programme may set requirements of its own, which this does not cover.
- Official admissions page
- www.chalmers.se/en/education/application-and-admission/
- Application portal
- Not located. Apply through the admissions page above.
- Language requirements
- Not located. U4S records no language-test threshold for any programme, anywhere.
- Required documents
- Not located.
- Intake and deadlines
- Not reviewed. U4S publishes no deadline without the intake it belongs to, and has not read this page’s dates.
Entry requirements change between intakes and differ by programme, by the qualification you hold and by where you are applying from. U4S records where the official requirements are published and when that page was last retrieved — nothing more. Students should verify current requirements on the official admissions page before relying on anything.
Next verification step
Open the official admissions page and record, only where it states them explicitly: the intake it applies to, the deadlines with their years, and the applicant categories it covers. U4S records no grade, test score or acceptance rate at any point.

What the institution asks for
Read from the institution’s own admissions pages, in the institution’s own words and units. U4S does not decide whether anyone meets any of it.
U4S never converts between grading systems or between language tests. A GPA is not a percentage, a UK classification is not a German Note, and an IELTS band is not a TOEFL score — institutions decide what they accept, and only the institution’s own published threshold governs an application. Everything below is recorded in the units the institution itself used.

Requirements marked as institution-wide were read from a page that covers more than this programme. They are what the institution publishes for applicants generally, and the programme’s own requirements may differ.
Everything above is a partial reading of one page. The official admissions page is the only complete statement of what this institution asks for: https://www.chalmers.se/en/education/application-and-admission/
Housing
U4S has not located an official accommodation page for Chalmers University of Technology. That is a gap in U4S — it is not a statement that the institution has no housing, and it should not be read as one.
This is about housing the institution itself runs. It says nothing about private rentals near the campus, which are a different market with different contracts, different prices and different consequences if something goes wrong.
Programmes
Read from this institution’s own catalogue. Each title is reproduced exactly as the institution wrote it, and each programme page records the source it came from. This is not necessarily every programme the institution runs: it is what the catalogue U4S retrieved actually listed.
