Fudan University
An orientation page, written for someone deciding whether to apply here. It sets out what a student or a parent would need to establish, and which office holds each answer, rather than describing the institution.

Next verification step
Tuition was not published for this institution. Open the institution’s own fee pages and check which student category the amount applies to, whether it covers a year or a semester, and whether accommodation and insurance charges are listed apart from tuition. Publish nothing unless the page itself states the amount, the currency, the academic year or intake, the study level, the student category and the period it covers, and unless each amount can be tied to the row it belongs to.
Student life context
Student life is shaped less by an institution's character than by a handful of ordinary arrangements: how far your accommodation sits from where you are taught, how many hours a week are timetabled and how much of the work sits behind them unsupervised, how your subject is assessed and when that falls in the year, and how much of the week is left over once all of it is accounted for. Every one of those can differ between programmes inside a single university, so the question worth asking is about your own programme rather than about the place in general.
The social side has an institutional answer, and the student services office is where to put it. Ask what clubs, sport and student organisations exist, whether they run centrally or within individual faculties, how somebody new joins one, and whether anything is arranged for arriving students before teaching begins. Our overview of what student life usually involves describes the patterns that recur across most systems, which is a reasonable way to work out which questions are worth asking.
The third thing to establish is what happens when something goes wrong, academically or personally, and which office administers it. Ask before you need it and note where the answer lives, because the moment you need that information is rarely the moment you want to go looking for it. The wellbeing section describes the kinds of support students commonly look for, and how to tell when it is worth asking rather than waiting.
Housing considerations
Accommodation deserves attention earlier than it usually gets, because it is the one part of a move that is hard to repair late. Establish whether the institution operates housing itself or mainly points students towards the private market, who is eligible for whatever it does operate, how places are allocated and in which order, whether a confirmed place on a programme comes first, and what a room actually includes once it is yours. The accommodation office is the authority on every part of that.
If some or all of the search happens privately, a different set of questions applies: who the agreement is with, what is required at signing, what is paid before keys change hands, how a deposit is held and returned, what is charged in addition to rent, and whether any of it can be arranged from another country. Arranging somewhere to live from abroad goes through that process in general terms, and the accommodation office can say which parts of it apply here.
Then work backwards from that office's own opening date rather than from the day you hope to arrive. Student housing in a university city tends to behave like a queue, and the people ahead of you asked sooner. Leaving it late usually means choosing from whatever is left, which is harder to judge from a listing and often further from where you would be taught than anything you would have picked deliberately.
International student considerations
An application from another country runs through two systems that are easy to confuse. The institution decides admission, enrolment, academic registration and anything to do with the programme itself. The relevant official authority decides entry and residence, and whatever attaches to them. Health cover, a bank account, proof of address and any registration expected after arrival sit between the two, and some of them depend on each other, so the order in which they are done matters as much as the content.
Put the institutional half to the international office and treat its reply as final on that half alone. Where it tells you an official authority decides something, that is the end of the line: guidance from the office that issues the permission is the only guidance that counts, and nothing published elsewhere, this page included, can stand in for it. Ask the international office where students in your situation most often get held up, which tends to be more useful than asking for a list.
Language belongs in the same exercise, as a practical matter and nothing larger. Establish which language your programme is taught in, which language it is assessed in, which language the administration around it runs in, and in which language documents will be issued to you, since none of those settles the others. Preparing for a move abroad covers the order in which these pieces are usually put in place.
Admissions
You will not find requirements, dates or measures on this page. What applies depends on the programme, on the level of study, and on the applicant category the institution places you in, and a single university can run several unrelated processes side by side. So the first task is not to look for criteria at all, but to identify precisely which route is yours and then to read only that one.
From there, the institution's own admissions pages and the office behind them are the only source worth acting on. Anything read elsewhere is a copy of unknown age, this page included. Put whatever is ambiguous in writing, keep the reply, and check the live official page again before acting, since published criteria and timings are revised by the institution rather than by anyone summarising it.
It is also worth asking what happens after an application goes in: how you would be told, what a conditional outcome means in their particular wording, what they would need from you next, and who to contact if something in your file is unusual. Applicants tend to prepare thoroughly for the submission and not at all for what follows it, and the office would generally rather answer in advance than untangle something later.
Tuition and fees
No fee figure appears on this page. U4S publishes a tuition amount only where it has been read from the institution's own published source and recorded together with the programme, the level of study, the applicant category and the academic year it belongs to. That work has not been completed here, so the field stays empty rather than being filled with an approximation, and no impression of the general scale is offered either, since that would be an unverified figure wearing an opinion's clothes.
Two things may be true of an official fee page and both are worth checking rather than assuming. Which student category an amount applies to is the first thing to establish, because one page can carry several amounts for different groups and the difference is not always signalled. And accommodation or insurance charges are commonly listed on the same page without being tuition, so an amount printed there may not be the whole of what is billed, or may not describe teaching at all. Why a fee page can list more than one amount explains why the category question comes before any other.
The figure to trust is the one you read yourself, on the institution's own fee pages, for your programme and your applicant category, and for the academic year in which you would actually start. Checking an official fee page properly sets out how to read such a page and what to ask the office that publishes it when one of those fields is missing.
Admissions
The institution’s own general admissions page. A particular programme may set requirements of its own, which this does not cover.
- Official admissions page
- www.fudan.edu.cn/en/Admission/list.htm
- Application portal
- Not located. Apply through the admissions page above.
- Language requirements
- Not located. U4S records no language-test threshold for any programme, anywhere.
- Required documents
- Not located.
- Intake and deadlines
- Not reviewed. U4S publishes no deadline without the intake it belongs to, and has not read this page’s dates.
Entry requirements change between intakes and differ by programme, by the qualification you hold and by where you are applying from. U4S records where the official requirements are published and when that page was last retrieved — nothing more. Students should verify current requirements on the official admissions page before relying on anything.
Next verification step
Open the official admissions page and record, only where it states them explicitly: the intake it applies to, the deadlines with their years, and the applicant categories it covers. U4S records no grade, test score or acceptance rate at any point.

What the institution asks for
Read from the institution’s own admissions pages, in the institution’s own words and units. U4S does not decide whether anyone meets any of it.
U4S never converts between grading systems or between language tests. A GPA is not a percentage, a UK classification is not a German Note, and an IELTS band is not a TOEFL score — institutions decide what they accept, and only the institution’s own published threshold governs an application. Everything below is recorded in the units the institution itself used.
Prior qualification
A qualification the institution says applicants must already hold.
- Institution-wideNamed without a value
We offer 70 bachelor degree programs, 154 doctoral degree programs and 224 master degree programs to students across the world.
Official page · retrieved 2026-09-13
Requirements marked as institution-wide were read from a page that covers more than this programme. They are what the institution publishes for applicants generally, and the programme’s own requirements may differ.
Everything above is a partial reading of one page. The official admissions page is the only complete statement of what this institution asks for: https://www.fudan.edu.cn/en/Admission/list.htm
Housing
U4S has not located an official accommodation page for Fudan University. That is a gap in U4S — it is not a statement that the institution has no housing, and it should not be read as one.
This is about housing the institution itself runs. It says nothing about private rentals near the campus, which are a different market with different contracts, different prices and different consequences if something goes wrong.
Official student support
Offices U4S has located on this institution’s own site. That an institution has a service means its website says so. It does not mean the service has capacity, answers quickly, can help with a particular problem, or that anybody found it useful. U4S measures none of those and publishes no rating of any service.
- International Students Office,Fudan UniversityThe office that deals with applicants and students from abroad. · page retrieved and confirmed · contact form
U4S links to an institution’s own page or contact form and publishes no email address. A list of institutional addresses is a list for anybody who wants one, and a contact form routes a student’s question better than a shared inbox.
If somebody is in immediate danger, use the local emergency number rather than any service listed here. U4S has not verified a single institution’s emergency contact, and a partly-verified one is worse than none.
Programmes
U4S has not read a programme catalogue for this institution. That is a gap in U4S, not a statement about what the institution offers — check its own website for the programmes it runs.
