Politehnica University of Bucharest

This page is an orientation for anyone considering applying here: it sets out what to establish, and which office holds each answer. It is published independently and is not written on behalf of the university.

Next verification step

Tuition was not published for this institution. Open the institution’s own fee pages and check whether a state-funded place and a fee-paying place are charged differently, and whether rates are published per faculty. Publish nothing unless the page itself states the amount, the currency, the academic year or intake, the study level, the student category and the period it covers, and unless each amount can be tied to the row it belongs to.

Student life context

Student life at any institution is shaped less by anything a prospectus says than by ordinary logistics: how contact hours are spread across a week, whether teaching happens mainly in lecture halls or in laboratories and studios, whether assessment gathers into heavy periods or runs through the term, and how far students move between the places where they study, eat and sleep. None of this is uniform across a single institution, so the useful question is about your own programme rather than about the university as a whole. Our general student life pages set out what to ask; only the university's student services office can tell you what applies here.

Societies, sport, volunteering and student representation are usually run by students themselves, which means what exists changes from intake to intake and is documented unevenly online. Ask the student services office what runs at the moment, when groups recruit, and whether anything is organised in a language you read comfortably. Planning how you will meet people matters more than most applicants expect, and building a circle from scratch is easier when it has been thought about before arrival rather than in the middle of a busy term.

It is worth establishing the practical furniture of a student week as well: where you would eat, what a student card gives you access to, whether libraries and study spaces keep hours that suit your timetable, and who you would speak to if something went wrong. Those answers sit with the university rather than with us, and asking them by email before you commit to anything is entirely normal. Nothing written above should be read as a description of this institution, because it is not one.

Housing considerations

Most of what follows is decided by whether the university operates accommodation of its own and, if it does, how places in it are allocated. Establish whether there is an application separate from the one you make for a study place, whether it runs on its own timetable, what a place includes, and whether allocation treats different groups of applicants differently. Put those questions to the accommodation office directly and keep what it tells you in writing, because informal accounts from other students age quickly and are rarely complete.

If you end up looking on the private market instead, the questions change shape: what a contract commits you to and for how long, what is included and what is billed separately, what deposit is held and on what terms it comes back, whether anyone is expected to stand behind the agreement on your behalf, and who you are legally dealing with. Our student housing material walks through those checks in general terms. Never transfer money for a place you have not been able to verify through the university or another route you have reason to trust.

Arranging this early matters because housing and admission run on separate clocks. A confirmed study place does not confirm a bed, and the moment when most students start looking is also the moment when choices tend to be thinnest and decisions get made under pressure. Sorting accommodation, or at least understanding the options open to you, well before you travel removes one of the more stressful variables from arrival and leaves you with attention to spare for registration and the start of teaching.

International student considerations

An applicant arriving from another country has several separate problems to solve, and they are easier to solve one at a time when kept apart. There is a documentary question: which of your existing qualifications and documents the university needs to see, in what form, and whether any of them require an official translation or a formal recognition step before they can be assessed. There is a language question: which language your programme is taught in, which language the university's own administration works in, and what the admissions office accepts as evidence of language ability. Both belong to the university, and its international office is the place to put them.

Another group of questions is not the university's to answer at all. Permission to enter and to remain for the purpose of study, whether any registration is expected after arrival, arrangements for health cover, and anything to do with paid work sit with the relevant official authority rather than with us or with the institution. This page states none of those conditions and does not paraphrase them, because only the office that issues a given document can say what it currently expects of someone in your position. The international office can usually tell you which authority to approach.

The remainder is ordinary preparation: setting up whatever banking arrangement you will need, working out how money will reach you and in which currency, identifying who to contact in an emergency, and finding out what the academic culture of your programme expects of students in seminars, in assessment and in dealings with staff. Preparing for a move abroad covers the general version of all of this, and the international office covers the version specific to here.

Admissions

This page carries no entry requirements, and that is deliberate. What applies to you depends on the programme, on the qualifications you already hold, and on the applicant category the university itself places you in, and none of that can be guessed from outside. The reliable method is the same everywhere: start from the university's own admissions pages, find the page for your exact programme and for a situation like yours, and treat anything you read elsewhere, this page included, as a prompt to check rather than as an answer.

Put your questions to the admissions office in writing, keep the replies, and ask it to confirm anything an agent, a forum or an acquaintance has told you. Where a document has to come from a school, an authority or a previous institution, request it early, because those steps run on other people's schedules rather than yours. If you are looking at more than one institution, keep a single record of what each has asked you for, since they rarely ask for identical things in identical formats.

Tuition and fees

You will not find a fee figure on this page. We publish only what has been verified against an official source, fees are revised, and an amount copied onto an outside page is one that will eventually be wrong in a way no reader can detect. Quoting one would also risk implying that a single published amount applies to everybody, which is rarely how fees are arranged anywhere.

It may be that a state-funded place and a fee-paying place are charged in different ways here, and that rates are published separately by faculty rather than as one institution-wide amount. Treat that as something to check rather than as a description of how anything works, and ask the university which of its published rates it would apply to you and to the programme you are considering. Checking fees at the official source explains how to do that without relying on summaries written elsewhere.

Finish on the university's own fee pages for the relevant year. Read them alongside whatever they say about when payment falls due, what the amount covers and what sits outside it, and what happens if your circumstances change part way through. Where the pages leave room for doubt, ask the admissions or finance office named on them and keep the reply before you transfer anything.

Admissions

U4S has not located an official admissions source here. That is a gap in U4S, not a statement that there are no requirements — every institution has them, and they are on its own site.

Housing

Source located

This is about housing the institution itself runs. It says nothing about private rentals near the campus, which are a different market with different contracts, different prices and different consequences if something goes wrong.

Does the institution manage housing itself?
Not reviewed. Locating an accommodation page does not establish this — some such pages exist mainly to explain that the institution does not.
Is housing guaranteed?
Not reviewed. U4S states no guarantee unless the institution has stated one in writing, because a student would plan a move around it.
Residence types
Dormitory
Application period
Not reviewed. U4S publishes no housing deadline without the year it belongs to.
Cost
Not reviewed. U4S publishes no rent figure without a currency, a period, a cycle and what it covers.
Deposit
Not reviewed. A deposit is not rent, and U4S records one only where the institution states it separately.
Private renting
U4S has not recorded whether this page covers private renting. Private accommodation is not university-managed housing, and U4S lists no private landlords or agencies.

Where a line reads “not reviewed”, U4S has not retrieved an official page stating it. That is a gap in U4S — it is never a statement that an institution has no housing, offers no guarantee, or has nothing available.

Next verification step

Confirm on the official accommodation page that what is recorded here still reads the same way, and record the application period with its year when the institution publishes it.

Official student support

Offices U4S has located on this institution’s own site. That an institution has a service means its website says so. It does not mean the service has capacity, answers quickly, can help with a particular problem, or that anybody found it useful. U4S measures none of those and publishes no rating of any service.

  • HomeThe office that deals with applicants and students from abroad. · page retrieved and confirmed

U4S links to an institution’s own page or contact form and publishes no email address. A list of institutional addresses is a list for anybody who wants one, and a contact form routes a student’s question better than a shared inbox.

If somebody is in immediate danger, use the local emergency number rather than any service listed here. U4S has not verified a single institution’s emergency contact, and a partly-verified one is worse than none.

Programmes

U4S has not read a programme catalogue for this institution. That is a gap in U4S, not a statement about what the institution offers — check its own website for the programmes it runs.
