Semmelweis University
An independent orientation page. It exists to help a prospective student or a parent see which questions are still open and who answers them, rather than to describe the institution or recommend it.

- Tuition and fees
- No figure is published on this page.
- Admissions
- U4S publishes no entry requirement, deadline or grade for any institution.
- Scholarships and support
- U4S names no funding scheme and states no eligibility.
Next verification step
Tuition was not published for this institution. Open the institution’s own fee pages and check whether a state-funded place and a fee-paying place are charged differently, and whether programmes taught in different languages carry different rates. Publish nothing unless the page itself states the amount, the currency, the academic year or intake, the study level, the student category and the period it covers, and unless each amount can be tied to the row it belongs to.
Student life context
Two students at the same institution can have quite different weeks, because a week is shaped by the programme rather than by the university. How the teaching is arranged, how much of it is timetabled, how much is left with you to organise, how far apart the buildings and the accommodation are, and how quickly a group forms around you. None of that is uniform, and none of it can be read off a general description.
Ask the student services office how societies, sport and student representation are organised here, whether they run centrally or within individual parts of the institution, and what a newcomer does to join one. The general picture of what student life involves is useful for deciding which of those questions matters to you before you send the message.
Ask separately what support exists when things go wrong, who a student contacts, and how quickly they can expect a response. Parents tend to want that answer more than any other, and it is a reasonable thing to ask before committing to anything. The wellbeing section describes the kinds of support most institutions have in some form, without claiming to know what exists here.
Housing considerations
Arranging somewhere to live is the part of a move that punishes delay. Establish whether the university runs accommodation of its own, how places are allocated and in what order, whether a room can be requested before a place on a programme is confirmed, what a room includes, what is charged separately, and how long an offer of a room stays open. The accommodation office is the only reliable source for any of it.
Where the private market is the answer, the questions become the ordinary ones of renting: who the agreement is with, what is expected at signing, how a deposit is held and returned, and how much of it can be settled from another country. What shared student housing is like day to day covers what changes once you are living alongside people you did not choose, which is the part that decides how well an arrangement works.
International student considerations
An applicant arriving from abroad has several separate things to establish, and they are held by different offices. The assessment of prior qualifications. The language of instruction, and whatever evidence of it the university asks for. Permission to enter and remain, which is a matter for the relevant official authority. Health cover. Enrolment, and the local registration that follows it.
The international office answers for the university on the academic and enrolment side. It cannot answer for entry or residence, and an answer from anyone other than the authority responsible for those carries no weight. Ask both where a question sits across the line between them, write your own circumstances out in full before asking anything, and keep every reply you are given.
The other half of arriving is not administrative at all, and it tends to be underestimated in the planning. Knowing when to ask for help is worth reading before it is needed rather than after, because the moment it becomes relevant is rarely the moment anyone feels like looking things up.
Admissions
This page states no requirement, deadline or test, and it will not. Those are set by the institution, they differ by programme, by level and by applicant category, and they change on a schedule that no outside summary tracks. What a page like this can do is describe how to find the version that applies to you and to nobody else.
Identify the programme and the level, establish which applicant category the institution places you in, then read that route on the official admissions pages and take everything else, this page included, as background. Put open questions to the admissions office in writing, keep the reply, and re-read the official page before acting. The university index is built on the same approach, if you are looking at more than one place.
Tuition and fees
No tuition figure is printed here. The reason is not that the information is hard to find but that a number without its fields is not information: an amount means one thing for one programme, one level, one category of student and one academic year, and nothing at all once those are detached from it.
Carry this caution into the official pages. It may be the case that a state-funded place and a fee-paying place are charged on different bases, and that a programme taught in one language is priced separately from the same programme taught in another. Whether either is so here, and which would apply to you, is for the university to state. Fees are only one part of what a year costs deals with the side of a budget that fee pages do not cover.
The amount that applies to you is on the institution's own fee pages, read for your programme and your category, with the academic year confirmed and anything ambiguous put to the office that publishes them. Treat a figure found anywhere else, including on pages that summarise many institutions at once, as something to verify rather than something to rely on.
Admissions
The institution’s own general admissions page. A particular programme may set requirements of its own, which this does not cover.
- Official admissions page
- semmelweis.hu/admission/
- Application portal
- semmelweis.hu/admission/process/online-application/
- Language requirements
- Not located. U4S records no language-test threshold for any programme, anywhere.
- Required documents
- Not located.
- Intake and deadlines
- Not reviewed. U4S publishes no deadline without the intake it belongs to, and has not read this page’s dates.
Entry requirements change between intakes and differ by programme, by the qualification you hold and by where you are applying from. U4S records where the official requirements are published and when that page was last retrieved — nothing more. Students should verify current requirements on the official admissions page before relying on anything.
Next verification step
Open the official admissions page and record, only where it states them explicitly: the intake it applies to, the deadlines with their years, and the applicant categories it covers. U4S records no grade, test score or acceptance rate at any point.

Housing
Source locatedThis is about housing the institution itself runs. It says nothing about private rentals near the campus, which are a different market with different contracts, different prices and different consequences if something goes wrong.
- Official accommodation page
- semmelweis.hu/admission/life-at/housing/
- Housing application
- Not located. Apply through the accommodation page above.
- Does the institution manage housing itself?
- Not reviewed. Locating an accommodation page does not establish this — some such pages exist mainly to explain that the institution does not.
- Is housing guaranteed?
- Not reviewed. U4S states no guarantee unless the institution has stated one in writing, because a student would plan a move around it.
- Residence types
- Studio, Halls of residence, Dormitory
- Application period
- Not reviewed. U4S publishes no housing deadline without the year it belongs to.
- Cost
- Not reviewed. U4S publishes no rent figure without a currency, a period, a cycle and what it covers.
- Deposit
- Not reviewed. A deposit is not rent, and U4S records one only where the institution states it separately.
- Private renting
- U4S has not recorded whether this page covers private renting. Private accommodation is not university-managed housing, and U4S lists no private landlords or agencies.
Where a line reads “not reviewed”, U4S has not retrieved an official page stating it. That is a gap in U4S — it is never a statement that an institution has no housing, offers no guarantee, or has nothing available.
Next verification step
Confirm on the official accommodation page that what is recorded here still reads the same way, and record the application period with its year when the institution publishes it.

Official student support
Offices U4S has located on this institution’s own site. That an institution has a service means its website says so. It does not mean the service has capacity, answers quickly, can help with a particular problem, or that anybody found it useful. U4S measures none of those and publishes no rating of any service.
- International RelationsThe office that deals with applicants and students from abroad. · page retrieved and confirmed · contact form
U4S links to an institution’s own page or contact form and publishes no email address. A list of institutional addresses is a list for anybody who wants one, and a contact form routes a student’s question better than a shared inbox.
If somebody is in immediate danger, use the local emergency number rather than any service listed here. U4S has not verified a single institution’s emergency contact, and a partly-verified one is worse than none.
Programmes
U4S has not read a programme catalogue for this institution. That is a gap in U4S, not a statement about what the institution offers — check its own website for the programmes it runs.
