University of Debrecen
A page for working out what still needs checking before an application, and with whom. It is orientation only, written independently, and it makes no claim about the institution beyond pointing at where the answers are kept.

What U4S has verified
OrientationThe official website was retrieved and the page confirmed the institution. Everything else on this page is orientation unless marked otherwise below.
- Tuition and fees
- No figure is published on this page.
- Admissions
- U4S publishes no entry requirement, deadline or grade for any institution.
- Scholarships and support
- U4S names no funding scheme and states no eligibility.
Next verification step
Tuition was not published for this institution. Open the institution’s own fee pages and check whether a state-funded place and a fee-paying place are charged differently, and whether programmes taught in different languages carry different rates. Publish nothing unless the page itself states the amount, the currency, the academic year or intake, the study level, the student category and the period it covers, and unless each amount can be tied to the row it belongs to.
Student life context
Most of what gets called student life is decided by ordinary logistics. How the teaching week is arranged, whether a programme keeps a cohort together, how much independent work sits between classes, how far apart your room, your teaching and your shopping are. Those settle whether there is time and company for anything beyond study, and they differ from one part of a university to another.
So the question worth asking is not what the place is like but how things are organised for your own programme. The student services office can say how clubs and sport are run, whether they sit centrally or within faculties, what a new student does to join one, and what support exists when a term goes badly. Finding people in a place where you know nobody covers the part that no office can arrange on your behalf.
Housing considerations
Housing is worth settling before almost anything else, because it has the least flexibility in it and the longest lead time. Start with whether the university operates accommodation of its own or mainly signposts what exists elsewhere. If it operates housing, establish how places are allocated, in what order, and whether a confirmed place on a programme has to come first.
If you are renting privately, the questions are the ordinary ones of taking a room in a country you may not know: who the agreement is with, what is required at signing, how a deposit is held and recovered, what is charged in addition to the rent, and whether anything can be arranged before you arrive. Finding housing from another country goes through that in general terms.
Ask the accommodation office when its own process opens, and in the same message ask what it advises for students who cannot travel in advance to view a room. That second question is the one people tend to forget, and its answer often shapes the rest of the plan, including how early a decision about it has to be taken.
International student considerations
An application from abroad is best treated as several parallel questions rather than one long form. How your existing qualifications are assessed here. Which language your programme and its paperwork run in. Permission to enter and to remain, which only the relevant official authority can speak to. Arrangements for health cover. And the registration that comes after arrival rather than before it.
Sorting them by owner saves time. The international office holds the academic and enrolment answers. The official authority responsible for entry and residence holds the rest, and its answer is the one that counts. Where the two overlap, ask both and keep what each says in writing. This page holds none of those answers and is not in a position to hold them.
Arriving somewhere unfamiliar is a separate matter from paperwork, and it lands at the same time as all of it. What arriving somewhere unfamiliar actually feels like is better read beforehand than afterwards. The academic half of the same adjustment is covered in getting used to a different way of teaching and assessing, which tends to become relevant around the first piece of assessed work.
Admissions
Nothing on this page tells you what admission requires, and that is deliberate. Criteria are set by the institution for each programme, level and applicant category, they are revised on its own schedule, and any copy kept elsewhere drifts quietly out of date. The value of an independent page is in telling you where to look and what to ask, not in reproducing what somebody else maintains.
In practice that means narrowing first. Establish the exact programme and level, establish which applicant category the university places you in, then read only that route on its official admissions pages and treat what it says as the position. Anything left unclear goes to the admissions office in writing. The editorial policy explains why this site does not restate requirements even where it has read them.
Tuition and fees
There is no fee amount on this page. A fee only becomes information when it is attached to a programme, a level, a category of student and a named academic year, and a figure stripped of those fields cannot be tested by a reader against their own situation. Leaving the space empty is honest; filling it with a borrowed number is not.
Take one caution into the official pages. It may be the case that a state-funded place and a fee-paying place are charged differently, and that programmes taught in different languages are priced separately. Whether either applies here, and which of them would apply to you, is for the institution to say rather than for anyone else to infer on your behalf.
Read the amounts where they are actually maintained, on the university's own fee pages, for your programme and your category, and confirm the academic year each figure belongs to before relying on it. Reading an official fee page properly is a short habit that prevents a long misunderstanding.
Admissions
The institution’s own general admissions page. A particular programme may set requirements of its own, which this does not cover.
- Official admissions page
- edu.unideb.hu/p/application-and-admission
- Application portal
- edu.unideb.hu/p/application-and-admission
- Language requirements
- Not located. U4S records no language-test threshold for any programme, anywhere.
- Required documents
- Not located.
- Intake and deadlines
- Not reviewed. U4S publishes no deadline without the intake it belongs to, and has not read this page’s dates.
Entry requirements change between intakes and differ by programme, by the qualification you hold and by where you are applying from. U4S records where the official requirements are published and when that page was last retrieved — nothing more. Students should verify current requirements on the official admissions page before relying on anything.
Next verification step
Open the official admissions page and record, only where it states them explicitly: the intake it applies to, the deadlines with their years, and the applicant categories it covers. U4S records no grade, test score or acceptance rate at any point.

What the institution asks for
Read from the institution’s own admissions pages, in the institution’s own words and units. U4S does not decide whether anyone meets any of it.
U4S never converts between grading systems or between language tests. A GPA is not a percentage, a UK classification is not a German Note, and an IELTS band is not a TOEFL score — institutions decide what they accept, and only the institution’s own published threshold governs an application. Everything below is recorded in the units the institution itself used.

Requirements marked as institution-wide were read from a page that covers more than this programme. They are what the institution publishes for applicants generally, and the programme’s own requirements may differ.
Everything above is a partial reading of one page. The official admissions page is the only complete statement of what this institution asks for: https://edu.unideb.hu/p/application-and-admission
Housing
U4S has not located an official accommodation page for University of Debrecen. That is a gap in U4S — it is not a statement that the institution has no housing, and it should not be read as one.
This is about housing the institution itself runs. It says nothing about private rentals near the campus, which are a different market with different contracts, different prices and different consequences if something goes wrong.
Official student support
Offices U4S has located on this institution’s own site. That an institution has a service means its website says so. It does not mean the service has capacity, answers quickly, can help with a particular problem, or that anybody found it useful. U4S measures none of those and publishes no rating of any service.
- International RelationsThe office that deals with applicants and students from abroad. · page retrieved and confirmed · contact form
U4S links to an institution’s own page or contact form and publishes no email address. A list of institutional addresses is a list for anybody who wants one, and a contact form routes a student’s question better than a shared inbox.
If somebody is in immediate danger, use the local emergency number rather than any service listed here. U4S has not verified a single institution’s emergency contact, and a partly-verified one is worse than none.
Programmes
U4S has not read a programme catalogue for this institution. That is a gap in U4S, not a statement about what the institution offers — check its own website for the programmes it runs.
