Next verification step
Tuition was not published for this institution. Open the institution’s own fee pages and check whether a per-semester amount is stated, which student categories it applies to, and whether the student body contribution is listed separately from tuition. Publish nothing unless the page itself states the amount, the currency, the academic year, the study level, the student category and the period it covers.
Student life context
Whatever makes student life good tends to come from the same few things: knowing where you are meant to be, knowing who to ask when you do not, having somewhere to be between classes, and finding a handful of people doing roughly what you are doing. Reputation contributes very little to any of that. What contributes a great deal is the practical shape of a programme, which differs inside every institution and is worth establishing directly. Building a circle around your studies is the part most students underestimate before they arrive and appreciate afterwards.
For the University of Klagenfurt, ask the student services office how a normal teaching week is arranged on the programme you are considering, whether teaching happens on a single site or several, how students are usually informed about changes, and what runs for arriving students in the period before term. Ask separately which student groups, sports and societies are active and how they recruit, and whether they are organised by the university or by students themselves. Making friends in a new country is easier when you know in advance which doors are open and when.
Housing considerations
Somewhere to live is worth settling before almost anything else, and the reason is timing: allocation rounds, contract start dates and the beginning of teaching are set by different people and do not necessarily agree with one another. Establish whether the university runs accommodation, refers students to providers, or leaves the search to you, and establish what the calendar looks like for whichever of those applies. The general picture of student housing is a reasonable place to get your bearings before you ask specific questions.
Then ask the specific ones. What does a contract commit you to, and for how long? What does a deposit involve, and how does it come back? What is included beyond the rent, and what is billed separately? What do students usually do if they cannot arrive before teaching starts? If you will be sharing, put the domestic and financial arrangements in writing at the start, because the arrangements that survive a difficult month are the ones agreed while everyone was still being polite.
International student considerations
Coming from another country adds a layer of administration that is handled more calmly as categories with owners than as a long list. The categories are language, recognition of qualifications, entry and residence formalities, health cover, money and banking, any registration required after arrival, and arrival logistics. Which of these apply to you, and what each one involves, depends on your nationality, your programme and your circumstances. Nothing on this page can tell you; the university's international student office and the relevant official authority can.
Language is worth isolating from the rest. The language a course is delivered in is not automatically the language of the forms you sign, of the office you visit when something needs fixing, of a housing agreement, or of any body you deal with beyond the university, and an institution may operate in more than one. Establish which language applies to each of those parts of daily life here, and ask the international office rather than assuming that a single answer covers everything.
Ask the international office, too, how far ahead students usually start each item and which steps depend on an earlier one being finished, because sequence tends to matter more than effort. Keep a written record of who told you what. Knowing when to ask for help is a skill in itself, and the students who settle quickest are usually the ones who ask early and often rather than the ones who work it out alone.
Admissions
There are no requirements, deadlines, tests or rates on this page. What applies to any given applicant depends on the programme, the qualification held, the country that issued it and the intake being applied for, and it is set by the university rather than by anyone writing about it. The admissions office publishes the version that counts.
So the task is not to find requirements but to find the right page and the right person. Go to the university's own website, locate the admissions section from there rather than from search results, note where each answer came from, and then contact the admissions office with the specific combination that describes you. Reading around country orientation pages can help you work out which questions are worth putting to an admissions office; the answers themselves always belong to the institution.
Tuition and fees
No amount is published on this page. Fees move, what is charged is not the same for every programme or every student, and a figure lifted onto an outside page tends to be wrong before anyone acts on it. What U4S does instead is verify the official website and direct you to it, which is a steadier thing to rely on than a number of unknown age.
Before you weigh a published amount against anything else, work out what stretch of time it buys. It may relate to a semester rather than a full year, and separate contributions may be listed beside it, in which case the number printed on the page is not the number you would pay. Whether that applies here is a question for the university's own pages and for its admissions or student administration office, not for this one.
Budgeting sensibly also means separating what an institution charges from what living somewhere costs, since the two are decided by different people and move independently of each other. Fees and living costs are worth planning as separate lines. Once you know what the number includes, what sits outside it and on what dates each portion is wanted, let the university's own fee pages, for the year you would be entering, settle it.
Admissions
The institution’s own general admissions page. A particular programme may set requirements of its own, which this does not cover.
- Official admissions page
- www.aau.at/en/university/organisation/administration-and-management/admissions-and-examinations-office/
- Application portal
- Not located. Apply through the admissions page above.
- Language requirements
- Not located. U4S records no language-test threshold for any programme, anywhere.
- Required documents
- Not located.
- Intake and deadlines
- Not reviewed. U4S publishes no deadline without the intake it belongs to, and has not read this page’s dates.
Entry requirements change between intakes and differ by programme, by the qualification you hold and by where you are applying from. U4S records where the official requirements are published and when that page was last retrieved — nothing more. Students should verify current requirements on the official admissions page before relying on anything.
Next verification step
Open the official admissions page and record, only where it states them explicitly: the intake it applies to, the deadlines with their years, and the applicant categories it covers. U4S records no grade, test score or acceptance rate at any point.

Housing
Source locatedThis is about housing the institution itself runs. It says nothing about private rentals near the campus, which are a different market with different contracts, different prices and different consequences if something goes wrong.
- Official accommodation page
- www.aau.at/en/university/campus/accommodation/
- Housing application
- Not located. Apply through the accommodation page above.
- Does the institution manage housing itself?
- Not reviewed. Locating an accommodation page does not establish this — some such pages exist mainly to explain that the institution does not.
- Is housing guaranteed?
- Not reviewed. U4S states no guarantee unless the institution has stated one in writing, because a student would plan a move around it.
- Residence types
- Halls of residence, Student village, Dormitory
- Application period
- Not reviewed. U4S publishes no housing deadline without the year it belongs to.
- Cost
- Not reviewed. U4S publishes no rent figure without a currency, a period, a cycle and what it covers.
- Deposit
- Not reviewed. A deposit is not rent, and U4S records one only where the institution states it separately.
- Private renting
- U4S has not recorded whether this page covers private renting. Private accommodation is not university-managed housing, and U4S lists no private landlords or agencies.
Where a line reads “not reviewed”, U4S has not retrieved an official page stating it. That is a gap in U4S — it is never a statement that an institution has no housing, offers no guarantee, or has nothing available.
Next verification step
Confirm on the official accommodation page that what is recorded here still reads the same way, and record the application period with its year when the institution publishes it.

Official student support
Offices U4S has located on this institution’s own site. That an institution has a service means its website says so. It does not mean the service has capacity, answers quickly, can help with a particular problem, or that anybody found it useful. U4S measures none of those and publishes no rating of any service.
- International OfficeThe office that deals with applicants and students from abroad. · page retrieved and confirmed · contact form
U4S links to an institution’s own page or contact form and publishes no email address. A list of institutional addresses is a list for anybody who wants one, and a contact form routes a student’s question better than a shared inbox.
If somebody is in immediate danger, use the local emergency number rather than any service listed here. U4S has not verified a single institution’s emergency contact, and a partly-verified one is worse than none.
Programmes
U4S has not read a programme catalogue for this institution. That is a gap in U4S, not a statement about what the institution offers — check its own website for the programmes it runs.
