Next verification step
Tuition was not published for this institution. Open the institution’s own fee pages and check whether an amount is stated for the year in question, whether a separate amount is stated for any other student category, and whether the programme sits outside the arrangement described. Publish nothing unless the page itself states the amount, the currency, the academic year, the study level, the student category and the period it covers.
Student life context
Ask what student life is like at a university and you will get an answer about the institution. Ask what your week would look like on a particular programme and you will get something you can use. The latter is the question to put to the University of Montpellier: how much taught contact there is and in what format, how large the teaching groups are, how much independent work is assumed, how far you travel to be taught, and how assessment is spread across the course.
The rest is built rather than inherited. Associations, sport, volunteering, events and the informal routines that come with them are what make somewhere feel liveable, and they generally take deliberate effort in the early weeks rather than arriving on their own. The university's student services pages describe what currently exists and how to join it, and our student life section covers the habits that tend to help wherever you end up studying.
If your choice is partly about what comes afterwards, that is a separate question to ask the university directly: what careers or placement support exists, who it is open to, and how students usually reach it. Nobody outside the institution can tell you what it currently runs. Our early career pages cover the general shape of that question, and the university's own services are where the specifics live.
Housing considerations
Accommodation is worth starting at the same time as the application, not after it. The things to establish are whether the University of Montpellier offers or allocates housing, whether that is a separate application with its own timetable, how places are allocated, and what your alternatives are if that route does not produce anything. The accommodation or student services office is the only place those answers are reliably current.
Where the search moves to the private market, the checks do not change from country to country: what the agreement commits you to and for how long, how the deposit is held and returned, which charges sit outside the rent, what is recorded about the condition of the property at the start, who is responsible for repairs, and what notice applies if you leave. Insist on documents you can read and keep, and avoid paying for a place you have not been able to verify. Our guide to finding housing abroad sets out the order to do this in.
Early matters because location decides more than it appears to. It sets your daily travel, a meaningful part of your regular spending and how easily you can take part in anything that happens outside teaching hours, and it is awkward to change once term has begun. Ask the international office, if you are arriving from another country, whether short-term options exist for the period between arrival and signing something longer.
International student considerations
For an applicant arriving from another country, the categories to work through are these: permission to enter and to study; health cover; any registration required after arrival; whether paid work alongside study is open to someone in your position; banking, insurance and address formalities; and the assessment of qualifications and language evidence gained in another system. Most of those are decided by official authorities rather than by any university, so the international office is where you learn which authority applies, and the authority itself is where the answer comes from.
The practical side of arriving is worth planning as its own task: knowing which office to contact when something is wrong, how support and emergency services are reached, how you register with the university once you are there, and who to tell if your circumstances change. Our practical guide for students arriving somewhere new covers the sensible groundwork, and the university's international office covers everything specific to this institution and to you.
Admissions
There are no requirements, dates or entry standards on this page. They depend on the programme, the level and the route you apply through, they are revised between intakes, and the University of Montpellier is the only body that can state what applies to your case. A page like this one is useful for working out what to ask, and useless as a source of what will be asked of you.
The method is simple enough. Read the university's own admissions pages for the exact programme, note precisely what they do and do not cover, and take the remainder to the admissions office. Establish which application route fits your situation, what evidence is expected and in what form, whether any stage of the process sits with an organisation outside the university, how and when you are told the outcome, and what happens between an offer and enrolment. Keep the answers in writing and check they refer to your programme rather than to the university generally.
Tuition and fees
This page deliberately contains no fee figure. Amounts change, they differ between programmes and between the categories a university places students in, and a number republished away from its source tends to linger long after it has ceased to be correct. What we can usefully offer is not a figure but a method for finding the one that applies to you.
There is also a possibility to check rather than assume: an amount of this kind may be set by a body outside the institution, may differ according to the category a student falls into, and may not apply to every kind of programme in the same way. Whether any of that is true in your case is for the university to confirm, and it is a fair question to put to an admissions or international office directly.
Keep fees and living costs in separate columns, since they behave differently and are decided by different things. Our comparison of fees and living costs explains why the distinction matters when you are planning. For the amount itself, go to the University of Montpellier's own fee pages for the relevant academic year, and ask the university to confirm in writing anything those pages leave open.
Admissions
The institution’s own general admissions page. A particular programme may set requirements of its own, which this does not cover.
- Official admissions page
- www.umontpellier.fr/en/formation/admission-et-inscription/
- Application portal
- Not located. Apply through the admissions page above.
- Language requirements
- Not located. U4S records no language-test threshold for any programme, anywhere.
- Required documents
- Not located.
- Intake and deadlines
- Not reviewed. U4S publishes no deadline without the intake it belongs to, and has not read this page’s dates.
Entry requirements change between intakes and differ by programme, by the qualification you hold and by where you are applying from. U4S records where the official requirements are published and when that page was last retrieved — nothing more. Students should verify current requirements on the official admissions page before relying on anything.
Next verification step
Open the official admissions page and record, only where it states them explicitly: the intake it applies to, the deadlines with their years, and the applicant categories it covers. U4S records no grade, test score or acceptance rate at any point.

What the institution asks for
Read from the institution’s own admissions pages, in the institution’s own words and units. U4S does not decide whether anyone meets any of it.
U4S never converts between grading systems or between language tests. A GPA is not a percentage, a UK classification is not a German Note, and an IELTS band is not a TOEFL score — institutions decide what they accept, and only the institution’s own published threshold governs an application. Everything below is recorded in the units the institution itself used.

- Institution-wideNamed without a value
It also appears on academic transcripts issued by high schools and universities.

Requirements marked as institution-wide were read from a page that covers more than this programme. They are what the institution publishes for applicants generally, and the programme’s own requirements may differ.
Everything above is a partial reading of one page. The official admissions page is the only complete statement of what this institution asks for: https://www.umontpellier.fr/en/formation/admission-et-inscription/
Housing
U4S has not located an official accommodation page for University of Montpellier. That is a gap in U4S — it is not a statement that the institution has no housing, and it should not be read as one.
This is about housing the institution itself runs. It says nothing about private rentals near the campus, which are a different market with different contracts, different prices and different consequences if something goes wrong.
Official student support
Offices U4S has located on this institution’s own site. That an institution has a service means its website says so. It does not mean the service has capacity, answers quickly, can help with a particular problem, or that anybody found it useful. U4S measures none of those and publishes no rating of any service.
- InternationalThe office that deals with applicants and students from abroad. · page retrieved and confirmed · contact form
U4S links to an institution’s own page or contact form and publishes no email address. A list of institutional addresses is a list for anybody who wants one, and a contact form routes a student’s question better than a shared inbox.
If somebody is in immediate danger, use the local emergency number rather than any service listed here. U4S has not verified a single institution’s emergency contact, and a partly-verified one is worse than none.
Programmes
U4S has not read a programme catalogue for this institution. That is a gap in U4S, not a statement about what the institution offers — check its own website for the programmes it runs.
