Western University
This page is an orientation rather than a prospectus. It sets out what a prospective student should establish for themselves and where each answer properly lives, and leaves the institution to describe itself.

What U4S has verified
OrientationThe official website was retrieved and the page confirmed the institution. Everything else on this page is orientation unless marked otherwise below.
- Tuition and fees
- No figure is published on this page.
- Admissions
- U4S publishes no entry requirement, deadline or grade for any institution.
- Scholarships and support
- U4S names no funding scheme and states no eligibility.
Next verification step
Tuition was not published for this institution. Open the institution’s own fee pages and check whether rates are given per programme rather than for the institution as a whole, and which student category each rate applies to. Publish nothing unless the page itself states the amount, the currency, the academic year or intake, the study level, the student category and the period it covers, and unless each amount can be tied to the row it belongs to.
Student life context
What student life feels like anywhere comes down to a handful of ordinary variables: how many contact hours a programme has and how they are spread, how far a student travels each day, how much paid work sits alongside study, and whether coursemates and friends are the same people. None of that is fixed for a whole university. It shifts by programme, by year of study and by where somebody ends up living, which is why the honest version of this section is a set of questions rather than a description.
Worth establishing directly: what a typical week looks like on the programme you are considering, how societies and sport are organised and what joining costs, whether a students' union or association runs services separate from the university's own, and what the academic calendar does to the rhythm of a term. Current students are the better source for the week, and the union or association for the rest. Finding your people usually takes longer than prospectuses imply, and it is easier when you already know which structures exist to join.
Support is the other half of student life, and it is worth mapping before anything is wrong. Academic advising, counselling, accessibility and disability support, hardship help and international student advice are commonly run by separate offices with separate ways in. Ask student services who does what, and how a student reaches somebody outside office hours. Looking after yourself while studying is a great deal easier when the names and the routes are already written down.
Housing considerations
Sort accommodation earlier than feels necessary. The sequence usually runs like this: find out what the university itself provides, find out how and when you apply and whether applying depends on holding an offer, find out what happens if nothing is allocated, and only then look at the private market with a clear idea of what you still need. Each step has its own timing at each institution, and the accommodation office is the only place that can give you this institution's version of it.
For anything rented privately, the questions are dull and important. What does the agreement commit you to, and for how long? What is included, and what is billed separately? What deposit arrangements apply, and who holds the money? Who handles repairs? Does the university list accommodation or advise students who run into difficulty? Sharing adds a further layer, because bills and responsibility end up divided between people who may not know each other yet, and agreeing money arrangements with flatmates in advance saves a great deal of renegotiation afterwards.
International student considerations
If you would be arriving from another country, treat the process as several tracks running at once. The academic track belongs to the institution: which category it places you in, how it treats prior study, and what it needs from you and by what route. The official track covers entry, residence, working and health cover, and it belongs to public authorities, so the only sound approach is to find the authority that applies to you and read what it publishes. The practical track is everything else: documents, banking, insurance, travel and the shape of the weeks after arrival.
Write to the international student office early and with specific questions rather than general ones. Ask what it handles itself and what it refers on. Ask which language your teaching, your assessment and the university's own administration are conducted in, since they are not necessarily the same and it is better established now than assumed. Ask what it recommends settling before travelling. Preparing for a move abroad is mostly a matter of starting the slow things early.
Admissions
You will not find criteria, dates or entry statistics here, and that is not an oversight. They differ from programme to programme, they attach to a particular intake, and the version that matters is the one on the institution's own site on the day you read it. Everything else is a copy, and copies age badly without announcing that they have.
The method that works is unglamorous. Start from the official programme page for the exact course you want. Read what it says about who it is addressed to. Write down every point you are not certain applies to you, and send those points to the admissions office so that the answer arrives in writing. If a third party tells you something the institution does not, believe the institution. U4S is not affiliated with this university and does not act on its behalf, as our editorial policy sets out.
Tuition and fees
There is no fee figure on this page. Amounts are revised, they attach to a particular intake, and what a given student pays depends on circumstances a general page cannot see. Publishing a number here would help nobody and would mislead somebody, most likely the reader with the least room to absorb the error.
It may well be that rates are published programme by programme rather than as a single institutional figure, and that which of them applies depends on the category a student is placed in. Both are worth checking rather than assuming, and both are questions for the institution rather than for a directory. Keep the cost of studying and the cost of living as separate lines; thinking about student money early makes the second one less of a surprise. Then read the institution's own fee pages for the year you intend to start, and read them again before you pay anything.
Admissions

- Application portal
- Not located. Apply through the admissions page above.
- Language requirements
- Not located. U4S records no language-test threshold for any programme, anywhere.
- Required documents
- Not located.
- Intake and deadlines
- Not reviewed. U4S publishes no deadline without the intake it belongs to, and has not read this page’s dates.
Entry requirements change between intakes and differ by programme, by the qualification you hold and by where you are applying from. U4S records where the official requirements are published and when that page was last retrieved — nothing more. Students should verify current requirements on the official admissions page before relying on anything.
Next verification step
Open the official admissions page and record, only where it states them explicitly: the intake it applies to, the deadlines with their years, and the applicant categories it covers. U4S records no grade, test score or acceptance rate at any point.

What the institution asks for
Read from the institution’s own admissions pages, in the institution’s own words and units. U4S does not decide whether anyone meets any of it.
U4S never converts between grading systems or between language tests. A GPA is not a percentage, a UK classification is not a German Note, and an IELTS band is not a TOEFL score — institutions decide what they accept, and only the institution’s own published threshold governs an application. Everything below is recorded in the units the institution itself used.

Requirements marked as institution-wide were read from a page that covers more than this programme. They are what the institution publishes for applicants generally, and the programme’s own requirements may differ.
Everything above is a partial reading of one page. The official admissions page is the only complete statement of what this institution asks for: https://grad.uwo.ca/admissions/apply.html
Housing
Source locatedThis is about housing the institution itself runs. It says nothing about private rentals near the campus, which are a different market with different contracts, different prices and different consequences if something goes wrong.
- Official accommodation page
- residence.uwo.ca/
- Housing application
- Not located. Apply through the accommodation page above.
- Does the institution manage housing itself?
- Not reviewed. Locating an accommodation page does not establish this — some such pages exist mainly to explain that the institution does not.
- Is housing guaranteed?
- Not reviewed. U4S states no guarantee unless the institution has stated one in writing, because a student would plan a move around it.
- Residence types
- Not reviewed.
- Application period
- Not reviewed. U4S publishes no housing deadline without the year it belongs to.
- Cost
- Not reviewed. U4S publishes no rent figure without a currency, a period, a cycle and what it covers.
- Deposit
- Not reviewed. A deposit is not rent, and U4S records one only where the institution states it separately.
- Private renting
- U4S has not recorded whether this page covers private renting. Private accommodation is not university-managed housing, and U4S lists no private landlords or agencies.
Where a line reads “not reviewed”, U4S has not retrieved an official page stating it. That is a gap in U4S — it is never a statement that an institution has no housing, offers no guarantee, or has nothing available.
Next verification step
Open the official accommodation page and record, only where it states them explicitly: whether the institution manages housing itself, whether it offers any guarantee and in what words, the residence types it names, the application period with its year, and any cost with its currency, period and what it covers.

Official student support
Offices U4S has located on this institution’s own site. That an institution has a service means its website says so. It does not mean the service has capacity, answers quickly, can help with a particular problem, or that anybody found it useful. U4S measures none of those and publishes no rating of any service.
- InternationalThe office that deals with applicants and students from abroad. · page located, not fully confirmed
U4S links to an institution’s own page or contact form and publishes no email address. A list of institutional addresses is a list for anybody who wants one, and a contact form routes a student’s question better than a shared inbox.
If somebody is in immediate danger, use the local emergency number rather than any service listed here. U4S has not verified a single institution’s emergency contact, and a partly-verified one is worse than none.
Programmes
U4S has not read a programme catalogue for this institution. That is a gap in U4S, not a statement about what the institution offers — check its own website for the programmes it runs.
